Default What is the best catback/header back exhaust system for a Del Sol

Hi I'm new to this site. I've used it for years for advice on my own car. I own and drive a 95 del sol si with a d16y8. Right now my exhaust is all stock except for a test pipe and a dc sports muffler. I'm a junior in high school and my job doesn't pay very much. Between gas, insurance, and food there's not very much left over for my car. Anyways I was thinking about getting a new exhaust system on my car. My budget it around 300-400. Any suggestions? I would also like something loud. By loud I mean you can hear it idle from a distance. Thanks guys.

whichever one fits your budget and you like the sound of, check them out on youtube to hear them.

But it sound like you want an exhaust for the wrong reasons. It won't add any HP gains, and the loudness you desire is going to be a magnet for cops, not girls.

Save your money. You wont gain any power and as Doctorake said, it will only attract unwanted attention. Way back in the day I was in this position as well...i saved my money and instead of buying crappy NA parts, I saved up for a turbo setup which was a much better waste of money

Thank you guys. I'm not really in it for the power I have a stance car. I kinda want something that is quiet until you step on it now lol. So if I pass a cop I can shift up and slip by lol. I'm not worried about horsepower though. Thanks guys :D

If you want loud, run without the muffler. If you want really loud, run from the header out.

I had a $400 exhaust put on a Honda once. They called it a "turbo".

If I could get a turbo system for $400 I'd put it on too, lol.

A lot of people have have mentioned decent results from Yonaka; I personally really enjoy the sound of an Apexi WS 2

It is entirely up to you to decide what you like, there is no 'best' muffler.

What sorta header would be good for enlarging the exhaust ports? I dont think my stock 4-1 would like it much, it'd still throttle it I believe nut im not too sure.

does z6 bolt up? Or should I do an aftermarket one that advertises as flowing better?

If you're looking for the most efficient B/$ (Boner/Dollar) header, I'd go with DC Sports.

I heard a lot about mufflers but isn't there exhausts that just have a tip and dont really muffle the sound just change the tone?
