ls/vtec misfire and stall after warm up
Hi, I did searches and came up with what I think the answer is, however, in searching the situations and etc didn't quite line up with mine, so I figured I would post to get some opinions.
I have a 97 hatch with an ls/vetch swap, it is a rescue former 'race car' that I have been working on for about 4 months. It has always ran strong, it just was never put all the way back together with things like the interior and body panels and such
so about 2 weeks ago when it started to warm up here, I noticed after about 10 mins from a cold start when it warmed up that it would misfire... a little bit like all 4 cylinders for just a sec and then keep on going. This problem remained the same until last night when it actually stalled for a few seconds and the kicked back on. It was under a small load going up a quick hill.
From what I can tell in searching it sounds like my most likely culprit is the ICM, possibly the coil, then cap and rotor, or possibly a fuel delivery problem.
Since it only happens for less than a sec, I don't want to wait until it completely dies to find the problem, so I am sort of left with throwin parts at it, would it make sense to start with the ICM... or am I off track?
thanks
LARRY
