I bought for less than even the replicas go, according to what information i could get from ICB and a "real vs fake" thread on here, its real. its made of fiberglass, with a carbon lip. the grill is not molded, allowing the use of whatever grill you want (ex, dx, Si, mugen, etc).

I plan on fixing the damage (crack and two holes drilled through for the fender rubber band mounts) and posting it for sale but want to know for sure if its real or not.

 

Thought the BYS had a little plack on them that said back yard special.

 

i thought so too... but was also told it was shipped with the plaque not attached... so maybe the PO decided to not install it?

 

No. 96-00 BYS bumpers have kevlar lips.

 

I believe extreme dimensions made a replica with carbon instead of Kevlar.

 

According to ICB via email they had a cf version too

 

I'm contacting the owner at ICB because I'm pretty sure like 99.9% that they never made a CF BYS bumper.

Ahh. Well, oh well. Paid $150 for it, the original owner paid $800... think I'll keep it if I ever get a 96-98 to put it on!!!
