Default whats the best shift points for a d16y7 in a ef sedan?

like the title says what are the best shift points?also what clutch kit do i order for my ef?its got a d16y7 out of a 96 civic in it with an l3 transmission.thing is i ordered kit for 96 and it wasnt even close to matching up.ordered one for an 88 and it was still a hair off what the deuce

I wouldnt take it past 7k. Those y7 bottoms ends are notorious for spinning rod bearings because of the weak oil pump.

'best'. Subjective.

For performance? For fuel economy? For engine longevity? For smoothness?

i run it just under 7 grand now so since they have week oil pumps do i try and find a better one?i need a good performance clutch kit for the car i have a stage one that should be here tommorrow but its just the disc.i need a new flywheel and pressure plate too.

You could put a different oil pump in it, and that would help. But you really need to get a new one and port it out to really be safe at elevated rpms and power levels. Search DIY oil pump porting for more info.
