5w-40 Mobile diesel engine oil in a civic SI?????

Getting to the end of my swap and was given a suggestion to use 5w-40 diesel oil. Can anyone give me some info on this? It is a brand new motor (B16A), and I am not sure about this. Never heard of it. Thanks everyone!
