leaking gas from my fuel rail
im leaking gas from my fuel rail I recently clean my egr ports now its leaking pretty good I tightened the rail down good but its coming from where the injectors go into the fuel rail I didn't want to take the injectors out of the rail because from what im told there is a lot of pressure in the rail can I get a few points on this repair
If the fuel injectors were not seated correctly, or you did not use a little grease to slide the O rings back into the rail/manifold, the O ring may have rolled and is now leaking. The rail and injectors should have been fully seated before bolting the rail back down. If you used the bolt/nut to pull the rail down then the injectors are not properly seated into the manifold/fuel rail
sounds like one of the injectors may have popped out of the rail... there is no pressure in the rail until the pump is primed...and the presssure is fairly light even after the key is turned off
just pull the rail and make sure everything is seated correctly
just pull the rail and make sure everything is seated correctly
i made sure that when I put everything back together that the injectors were fully seated correctly I even used a little bit of gasket sealer on them the first time but ill pull it apart and check the o rings but it look like its coming from the rail, thanks you all a lot for your input
I recently did the EGR port cleaning on a 96 Accord and had the same problem. Started smelling fuel while driving. Found one of the injectors were leaking pretty bad. My problem was the o-ring inside the injector. Not sure if it was just coincidence or I screwed something up removing them. Regardless, for a few bucks, I replaced them all. Took all but 10 minutes and fixed the issue. Good luck.
I got it fixed it turned out that one of my o rings had a slight gash in it im waiting on an o ring now but I put gasket sealer on it for a temp fix I had to get to work

Exact same thing happened to me. Tore an o-ring on the sharp edge of the fuel rail. Just replace all the O-rings while you're at it...piece of mind and you'll already have it off.
