what is that vent piece thats on crx's in the UK? thats on the front left area in front of the top radiator hose ?

just wondering if anyone knows exactly what its for ? and why we don't have them on ours ?

do they have that instead of that plastic snorkel piece that we have, that goes across top of radiator to suck air from under the hood ?

The JDM and USDM had a different front end in 90-91 that came with a different air intake due the front bumper having an extra area for air to come through.

It's a minor difference

does it work any better than the snorkel air intake thing ? or about the same you think?

when i look at that snorkel intake piece, to me it seems like there would be a better place to suck air in from ? cause i barely see much of a space under the edge of the hood for it to get air from into the snorkel ?, i was looking around to see if theres a bigger spot around the headlight or something to route air into the snorkel instead ?

also, why would the snorkel go all the way across the radiator and get air from the right side? when they could of had a shorter snorkel that gets air from area on the left side? so shorter travel of the air being drawn in ?

It's the side away from the exhaust manifold, so it would be cooler. Only the SiR has it right? It's a marginal difference as Deetz said.

It's actually found on most, if not all models 1990+ over sea's. I've brought in both EF6 and EF7 crx's with that front end, plus the European EE7 and EE8 also had that front end. The biggest difference between all of these front end is the T bar like i pictured. That intake, along with a small amount of tubing behind it was only found on B16A models (EF8, EF9, and EE8, EE9)
