Default my 93 ej2 build thread

hello everyone, this will be my build thread. my project is a 1993 honda dx coupe. my goal for this project is a complete performance build/restoration of this car. step one will be rebuilding the suspension. i dont expect to get this done quickly seeing as im dealing with a paycheck to paycheck kind of budget. but i dont mind saving, waiting for exactly what i want. i may cut a few corners slightly to save money. for example im thinking about using an adjustable coil over sleeve system as opposed to going with a full coil over system to save quite a bit of cash. this is going to be a daily driver when finished so full race components are a bit over the top. i will start posting pics most likely next week. any and all info will be appreciated, but please keep rude comments to urself.

this, 100x this.

good luck OP, I'm building a 95. Previous owner rebuilt the front suspension with OE stuff, ima leave it like that till I break it. I was gonna buy a dual cam engine but I found that the stock block already has performance parts, so ima try to fix this first either fun entry-level SCCA or to sell to finance the project.

what are your overall goals? Anything specific?

overall goals are to completely rebuild the car. from the ground up. the suspension package ive put together will be comprised of nrg front and rear camber adjustable upper control arms, nrg coil over sleeves, truhart struts, blackworks rear sub frame brace, megan front h brace, nrg lower front and rear control arms, and probably prothane bushing for the bushing that dont get replaced when i bolt up the new parts. so esentially a complete suspension rebuild. im going to keep the stock brakes till i get new rims (xxr 522 chromium black) because my vx rims wont clear anything larger than stock. as far as engine im planning on getting either a vtec zc or a d16z6 whichever i can find cheaper and in better condition. im keeping my s20 trans, new clutch and flywheel tho. this is going to be a long project, but its going to be one of the cleanest civics in my neck of the woods. i will post pics as soon as i finish compiling them, which should be hopefully later today if not Wednesday.

well if any of you have been following this thread im sorry to announce i will no longer be working on this project. as it turns out there is some really severe structural damage to the front end that goes beyond my skill level. not to mention for the amount of cash i was about to sink into this project i could buy a more worthwhile base (i.e da integra, early to mid 90's prelude). so stay tuned there will be a new project in the works sometime soon.
