Default Hub bearings

Hi have a dilemma. I recently replaced my front ITR hub bearings and brake dust shields. Problem is that I didn't realize I ordered the wrong shields. The shields fit the assembly fine, but does not clear the brake rotor.. **DUH**.

I can press out the bearings again, but will that render the new hub bearings useless since the bearing may fall apart once pressed out? There's a tendency that the outer race may come off with the hub when pressed out. If this happens, will I need a new bearing again? I already dropped 80$ for each bearing.

I've re-used them before. if the bearing is good, just stick it back on. I've never once had the bearing fall apart though.

I just did this with my rears when I put new studs in. Seem to be just fine.

did the bearings come apart, one race bearing on the hub and the other inside the knuckle?

If they're brand new, sounds like you obviously haven't put weight on them or even possibly torqued the axle nut, I think you'd be all right to press the hub out and just press it back in when you replace the shield. Shouldn't be an issue

You can remove the shield without removing the hub.

Just don't run a shield.

This is one of the reasons I use parts store bearings, lifetime warranty! Just bring it back and get a new one. I have had the same issue before, but I didnt even try to use it again, just went and got another one.

Same deal. They both tend to leave the inner race on.

You can't unless you cut up the shield. Why would you want your rotating disks exposed to debris and stuff on the track? It could get ugly not using a shield.

Yeah you have to cut it. I've never had debri issues on track. 4x100 itr setups domt have dust shield options.
