Hey, new here. I'm having some major issues with my prelude I just got about 3 months ago. I was going to use the paper clip trick in the plug to check codes when I discovered a paper clip already jammed in there. I removed the paper clip and my cel light went out, but the car wasn't turning over, almost like it was dead. So I put the clip back in, the cel light came back on then the car would start.

I also have another issue. Occasionally, when running, the car will buck and the cel will go out. Then it'll come back on. Sometimes the car will continue to buck and die out, sometimes with the light remaining on sometimes not.

Ideas?

 

Check all your fuses - especially the ECU, there's a thread here showing the procedure to check CEL.

Pull out the paper clip, reset battery, make sure ecu fuse is good and.... yeah , wow. i hope somebody else comments on this.

That's really messed that it needed to be jumped in order to start .. color me confused.
