Rotors
Hello,
So I went the cheap route with doing my brakes and bought Advantaged Auto rotors and warped them within 5 days... I realize they were shitty, but 5 days? Anywho, I need a recomendation for what type of rotors to get? I have a 98 GSR, just a daily driving car. I currently have EBC greenstuff 2000 brakes.. I'd appreciate some suggestions... Maybe just OEM?
I'm just going to take the rotors back and get a refund.. I also noticed that the EBC's fit extremly tight, and i'm wondering if that caused the problem in the first place. I couldnt even use the little plastic plate things that come with them for the rears.. (I'm not sure what they are called, I am not that car savvy). I was told they are the things that are used to stop the vibration when the brakes run out? I also have a busted inner tie rod boot, but I dont think thats causing the pulsing sensation I'm feeling. The rotors don't look bad or anything.. Let me know if you can think of anything else that would cause this. Though I'm pretty sure I know what warped rotors felt like because my old ones were warped and the car shook when I stopped..

Can you feel the pedal vibrating when you push the brakes? I am sure I can warp a brand new set of rotors by taking a car to 100 and slamming on the brakes. once at a stop, don't let go of the brake pedal. At that point, the rotor is going to have an issue with the heat going through it. I don't think that the autozone ones have anything to do with unless they were not meant for your car some how.
Rotors don't warp, unless you heated them to the point of glowing orange and then submerged them in cold water...
I'm assuming you didn't follow a proper pad bedding procedure, and have built up uneven deposits of brake pad on the rotor surface. Go bed the pads and it will go away.

Lay them flat and you'll know if they're warped. Do you have bad wheel bearings? That could cause vibrations during turns and braking as well. Otherwise bed the pads properly.
Okay, it is not the brakes. After driving my brothers brand new car, I found that my brakes are even better than his..
I also realize that the that steering wheel shakes also when I brake.. I even had new tires recently put on and balanced, so its not that.. I seen that someone mentioned could it be a wheel bearing.. However the car is not making any noise yet.. Could it still be the wheel bearing, and how do I find out?? What other possibilities are there?
As I said, I have what appears to be a bad inner tie rod boot, and an axel boot that is starting to leak, but I dont think this is the whats causing the shaking.. If I am wrong please tell me..
thoughts?
