hello folks.im new to the import scene(gbodys are my bread and butter)and recently picked up a mint 95 accord wagon(besides the window issue im facing)that im gonna be building a tricked out daily of!.im having issues with my driver side window,that is stuck in the down position??? it will make the sound as if it were trying to go up but will not? although all the other windows can be opperated from the main driverside swith panel to the down position,but will not go up and have to be operated from the individual switches on the separate doors? im wanting to know if it is actually the motor, switch,or possibly a "relay" that is causing this problem? if it is a relay,where would it be located? any help would/is greatly appreciated!!!

Ok, so a little clarification needs to be had. So:

- Driver's main window switch ONLY puts all the windows down, but not up?

- Each individual window switch on their respective doors work for up AND down?

Sounds to me the driver's main window switch is bad. I had a bad one in my car and after taking it apart, the little copper contacts inside were burnt up for only the 'window up' position in each switch. The 'down' contacts were fine. Got a used one from the junkyard for next to nothing, after I checked the contacts inside of it. Moisture/water will get in there over time and short those contacts out.

 

thank you for the welcome!!! now as for the clarifaction---(1)- YES the driver main window switch ONLY puts the windows DOWN,and NOT up.
(2)-as for the individual window switches will ONLY operate the windows to the DOWN position.
hopefully this sheds some light on the diagnosis/problem? if in fact it turns out to be JUST the main window switch,(hopefully)i will have to go to the yards,or post in the wanted section.will a switch from a 95 sedan work as well?

 

OK, sorry......I'm still not clear on #2. So...if you went to your back passenger seat and used that window switch, does it put the window down and back up?

A window switch from a 95 sedan should work just fine. I don't think they're any different?? Just make sure you inspect it before you buy it. If the metal contacts inside are burnt up, you'll just be buying another one.

 

Sounds like the main switch, let us know what you find out...

 

when using the individual door switches,the windows can ONLY be raised and NOT lowered.i cannot lower the windows when opperating the individual door window switches.all windows(exc driver side front,which will NOT go up or down)can be LOWERED(but not raised) from the main driver side switch.

 

,so i took switch out and cleand the terminals.now the driverside window funtions properly,but now the pass window does not work???wtf??? as for the rear 2,the ds works,but the pass does no work from the main switch???? heeeeellllp!!!!!!!
