Lil background:
-97 civic lx y7 sedan
Y7 engine harness
Doing a y7block / y8 head mini me swap with a edelbrock z6 made IM
Have a obd2a y8 Ecu
already know: I have to wire vtec and knock sensor and oil pressure sensor for vtec or something like that
Question:
what throttle body can I use with my setup to have little to no troubles with my y7 engine harness?
I have a y7 tb. Can I use this setup or got to get a different TB (y8/z6/any b series ?? like B18b1/a1 TB?)
Will I have troubles involving iacv with whatever's recommended?
Need to know before I put back my whole top end

Pretty much any d or b series 92up (minus 92-93 integra) will work. Older B andD series don't have a map sensor mounted on them. Y7 might work but you'll have to use a throttle rotor from another model or it'll be the wrong direction. You'll need to sure up VTEC, knock and rewire the IACV.

So if i were to use the y7 Tb, i would block up the y7 TB's IACV AND use a different rotor?
do that mean i chop n rewire the y7 ENGINE harness to connect to the Z6 IACV?
yea i read that i would have to use a different throttle rotor if im using a y7 TB.
again, to rewire the IACV, i would chop up the y7 engine harness to wire up new IACV to the Z6 IM?
i cant use the y7 TB IACV and block the z6 IACV ports?
been googling and i found this website
it says according to boost ben

2. TB GASKET: your going to want to use your stock one, the others I have tried have an extra opening and will allow a huge vacuum leak.
3: IACV: use yours on the Y7 tb. Run new coolant lines to the block and coolant neck.
4. MANIFOLD HOLES TO BLOCK: You need to block the IACV opening on the maniflod because you are not using it. You also need to block the IAT sensor because you are not using that either. Also be sure to cap off any other vacuum nipples that are not being used.
5. FUEL RAIL AND REGULATOR: You need to use a Z6 fuel rail because the Y7 one will not bolt up. Even with the z6 fuel rail your going to need a small spacer so the bolts have something to push against, I used a rubber washers. You have to use the Z6 fuel pressure regulator as well because the Y7 one has an off set hole where the Z6 one is straight.
6. THROTTLE CABLE MOUNT: I hacked up mine from the Y7 manifold and made it work. You most likely will want one from the Z6 manifold.

That's just for a Y7 to Y8/Z6 intake manifold. Since you're doing the head swap as well, you'll need the proper ECU, and the proper ECU will necessitate a 2 wire IACV, so you'll need to convert. It doesn't involve "chopping" your harness, just a little bit of re-pinning.

Then get a 2 wire IACV plug (you can find them on eBay for $5-$10, clip the 3 wire plug off, and wire the two used wires into the new switch. Easy, done.

quick question, i am going to be using a P28 Chipped w/ y8 basemap ecu with a obd2a > obd1 harness.
does this change anything listed above? aka do i have to unpin ecu (i think i dont since p28 have 2wire iacv correct?)
only thing i need to convert is my engine IACV harness plug? convert the 3wire plug to a 2wire plug?
i have a 95 civic EX i can take stuff off of later today (luckily my friends parting one out so i have access to anything there!!!)
Nope, doesn't change anything from that write-up. I had to do the same thing when I turbo'd my car (which already had a Y8-style IM), because I was switching to a chipped P28.
