euro EJ9 / EK wannabe
My name is Marc, I am from Poland and this is my car. I have bought it like a year ago from my buddy. The main goal with this "build" is a low budget track car, as I always wanted to try some time trails. Here are some specs for you (the car has some differences from US versions)
Model: 1996 Civic EJ9 3 door
Engine: D14A3 1.4l SOHC non vtec 74 hp / 6000 / Torque:110 Nm / 3000
Engine is the similar to a D14A4 engine which has 90 hp. The only difference was a gasket in intake mainfold which, due its reduced air flow, limited the power. It was done in countrys like Germany for auto insurance reason as far as I know. Replacing the gasket takes like 5 minutes, and it's easiest 16 hoursepower you can get in a Honda motor.
I do not plan to make any changes to the motor itself, as it is pointless. For now, I have swaped the intake mainfold from an D15B7 engine. Car reacts much better when pressing accelerator right now. Next step will be a rebuild S40 gearbox with 4,4 final drive and propably some gears from an CRX. I also plan on installing lightened fly wheel and a new clutch as the car still has a stock one. Later on, I will have to work on some bigger brakes, and better exhaust system as for now i am running a stock exhaust with just catalytic converter removed. Here are some pics for you:
The day I got it

rust

Actualy the first thing I did to that car, was bringing it to a body shop to have all the rust removed, so it's pretty much rust free for now. Unfortunetly it's like we still live in dark ages here in Poland, and they use salt on the roads at winter. As you can see, it took a quite an impact on my car...
Then coilover arrived

And this how the car looks like now

I will do some photos of engine bay and interior later on and post them here. I will be happy to answer to your questions if you have any, and to hear some comments on my car. Cheers!
