Default Trunk light turning ON randomly - setting off my alarm

The alarm on my car has been going off randomly in the night. My alarm has a voltage monitoring system, so when a light comes on, it triggers the alarm. I dropped the back seat and realized that the trunk light would come on randomly. It did this in the past a few times per year, where it will continue doing it for a few days. It usually do this on really cold nights. The last time it did this, the alarm went off about 4 times in one night.

I could not find any information about how the trunk light mechanism works. The trunk was closed at the time. I would disable the alarm, check it, re-lock the trunk. It would then come on again after about 30 mins - 3 hours.

I want to figure out where the switch for the trunk lock is, and how it works. Does anyone have any information?

There is a latch switch incorporated as part of the trunk lid latch. When the trunk is open, the switch contacts closes, allowing a ground signal through the switch to the trunk light (which turns on the light). The positive (+) wire going to the light is always hot, it just needs the ground (-) source coming through the latch switch so that it will turn on.
