Default HELP! Right Front CV Joint/Shaft Replacement

What's entailed with replacing the right front CV joint/shaft (06 LX sedan)?

I noticed during an oil change a lot of grease flung from the inside joint. Maybe a result of running a bad wheel bearing for awhile. Maybe a result of running many sets of cupped tires swapped out from the rear due to incorrect rear control arm length. Or maybe my doing while doing other work.

I recently did the wheel bearings and struts so I know how to take apart and reassemble to get to the cv shaft.

Is it as simple as pulling out and inserting a new shaft? Are there seals that are of concern?

It seems too easy, I bet there is something that makes this a PITA.

Thanks,
John

I literally swapped BOTH axles off my buddies car in 40 minutes on Monday.

Make sure you have a big flathead screwdriver or prybar to get it out of the trans and then when re-installing whack the end FIRMLY with a rubber mallet to seat the clip in the trans.

Get new axle nuts if the new axles don't come with em.

Get new cotter pins for the ball joints.

Go to town on it.
