Did you know a basic replacement dist cap is like $8?

That is ridiculous waste of money for something that is going to do absolutely nothing for the motor. You literally will not notice a difference at all.

Specific reason behind you wanted to get that?

I was under the impression that it would make a difference in performance. I'm 17 and just starting out in my endeavor to learn about cars and DIY. well then if there is no performance difference then i will get a different cap but what about the O ring im talking about. would you recommend replacing that?

Im just curious what you read or thought you would benefit by installing that on a stock motor? The stock ignition system on honda's is good for quadrouple or more the stock hp.

If it's the inner o-ring you are talking about....then yes, might as well replace it.

The factory ignition system is more than adequate for the stock engine.
Only when you have made drastic changes to the engine will you need to do any changes to the ignition system.

My friend told me that he replaces his distributor cap when he does a tune up and says that if you use a performance one that it will put more pep in the step of your car.

do whatever you think is best then ... really no point asking for advice if you're not going to use it
