Default Rim Help

I want to get my husband new rims and tires for his 03 civic si but i don't know what size to get.

I know they have to be 4x100 and i know he wants 17 inch rims. but i don't know what width to get? if i get them 17x8 or 17x8.5 is that too wide? will i be able to get them put on at pep boys or walmart?

Please help! thanks!

17x7 is the typical size for a civic with a 205/45r17 tire. I personally would have them installed at a wheel/tire shop as opposed to wally's world.

X2.... Most of the time they will only do a half *** job if you take it to walmart. Or even damage the rims.

Definitely take it to a Wheel/tire shop as Juggernaut suggested.
