Default Headstud noob question

Hello I currently have ls/vtec headstuds but my ls block cracked a sleeve and I'm putting a b16 block in it. I have a b16 head. My friend told me I can use the same headstuds but I was wondering if I need b16 headstuds or I can reuse mine? Thanks a lot

When installing clean the hell out of surfaces before torquing the head down and make sure torque in sequence in steps. I torque to 10, 25, 55, then 75-80 ft lbs and then wait an hour and retorque to 75-80 and then wait another 10 min and check torque again.

Triple, quadruple and then check torque again. Very important to get a good seal. Also I would get the head milled before reinstallation. My local shop does a mill for $50 and that will ensure the head isnt warped.

no you cant!!! the head studs are different than the ones used for lsvtec and one for b16!! Its alway s recommended to check warpage of the block and the head before installing with a straight edge.

How so? Saying they are doesn't help, over saying how they are different.

I'm pretty sure it varies from vtec/nonvtec heads, blocks make no difference.
Two studs/bolts should be longer for the middle on the LS head.
