b18ls manifold problems
motor is a b18a1. got a skunk2 intake manifold and 68mm throttle body.
so basically the install only took 2hrs, didnt really run into any problems. had to get a b18b1 map sensor and i ended up gettin a new tps for a b1.
*old startup* motor would start at 3k rpms, sit at 2500ish while cold and then 1200 for 5minutes until the idle settled down at 850.
with the *new startup* the motor barely kicks 500 rpms until i gas once, and then it will idle 1500 rpms and within a few mins of warming up it will sit idling at 700. and after you start driving the idle drops to 500-600
now i put new copper plugs in, new distributor cap since iv been getting arcing in the cap and havnt found the source, and a new air filter since its done snowing in jersey i hope. first startup jumped to 2k rpms and then idled 1500 cold and after driving the idle settled at 650-700.
am i pushing too much air into the motor now? honestly it felt like i lost compression until doing plugs/distrib cap. and even still theres a obvious power loss. prior tune was running rich and my timing is advanced. if anything more air would help with running rich

and to get the obvious answer out of the way.. for ppl who say dont do a manifold until u put cams in..
already have a intake/exhaust/headers... stage 1 cams because my friend had them laying around, block is 10.4 c/r and i already did a street tune with chrome.
there is no vac leaks, all sensors are working and testing. the tps i still havnt calibrated but the motor doesnt run right from start up, and the tps would only effect after driving
* have more aggressive cams with matching valve train but waiting for the spare head 2 come back from being pnp/valve job

the idle screw on skunk2 throttle bodies only adjust within a 50rpm range give or take. and i need to retard my distrib timing because i have it advanced so the motor will stay running to mess with
Make sure your timing is spot on factory specs before you start figuring out any idle issues.
-check TPS is in proper range
-check that you didn't inadvertantly swap the MAP and IACV plugs (won't pull a code even if these are swapped)
tps/map is easy for me. both sensors are new, but my map sensor was on the firewall so the plug has so much extra length now that its under the tb.
and i still havnt calibrated the tps, but that shouldnt effect start up. but like i said new copper plugs and a distributor cap have helped a lot, but not quite still.
as for timing, my cam gear marks are like 25degrees off but the motor is timed *keys are still in*. have a new gates racing water pump/pulley/belt to install still since my current water pump is spinning in the wind above 3k rpms. probably sunday if it doesnt rain im just gonna do water pump/timing/pulley.. find my adjustable fpr if i can find my guage to go next to it on rail.. and start tweaking.
