Default place vs. hasport

I have used 2 sets of hasport mounts of 2 of my swaps. I am doing a 3rd now and am thinking about using place mounts. HASport is great, but the price is too high, i get get a cheap set of place ones.

question is, is place a good mount?

You get what you pay for...although I'm with you about Hasport taking advantage of the situation. I'll still take Hasport over place though....

I have both mount kits. And neither has given me problems. But the Hasport kit does hve two great advantages over Place Racing. One is ground clearance. Now ground clearance is a problem with ANY B-swap. But the Hasport kit gives you a little more. The second is the use of a header. With the Hasport kit, you can use a 4-2-1 header without any problems. But you have to either use a different crossmember or modify the crossmember to fit a 4-2-1 header with the Place Racing kit.

i agree i have an obx 4-2-1 only because it was cheap, but i have b16 head on gsr block and it rubbed on my hood so i had to cut the reinforcements out....

dont get me wrong tho i still love these mounts

ALMOST FORGOT... when i pulled out my motor and changed out my fu**ed up block from HMO i ripped the rear motor mount insert because i pulled it out by myself and unbolted the rear motor mount but forgot to take it off before i pulled the motor out. but anyways HASPORT fixed the mount for free i just had to pay 5 bucks for shipping.... THAT CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AWESOME... I sent the mount out on friday got it back the following thurs.

HASPORT

I have done over 20 EF + Bseries swaps with different mount kits. Comparing place and Hasport is not even a comparison. If you are not wanting to spend the money on the Hasport mount kit, then get the HCP mounts. I have installed about 12 HCP kits and they are alot better than the place mounts. I would get the Hasport first, but if you are tight on cash, get the HCP.

I have Place Racing mounts and they work great for me. A lot of people bash Place but I have had no problems at all. Hasports look really good though.

i don't like how my motor feels like it is trying to shake its way out of my engine bay starting slowly out of first, wondering if this is a soft mount problem (hcp) or just common? a friend with place mounts in an ls vtec crx seems far more stiff, and they are the first generation place mounts, the ones that supposedly had problems.

hasport from HMO is only $350. So, how is that more expensive?

**** i paied 350 for my hasport. if HCP is 325 (not incl. shipping) and the hasport was 350 including shipping, guess what i will get.... i did a set of HCP and i really thought they were inferior to the hasport setup, from no bolts coming with them, to the HUGE holes that allow for alot of play on the trans mount.

Incubus- you have the Place Racing motor mounts. I have the place mounts in my rex, and they are blue w/ the rubber bushings that say "place racing" on them if you look closely. I love my place racing mounts never had a problem w/ them...knock on wood. I just wish that i would have bashed in the rear crossmember...or whatever that is called by the rear mount..so that it would reduce vibration.

I've wondered about these AZ Racing mounts myself. Something like $230 shipped? Are they made of paper and glue or something? I mean that's cheap, and I'm sure they're ok, but I'm waiting to hear from someone before I get a set. I've been considering making my own but nobody will give me measurements. I'd be willing to make a set for someone that just gave me some measurements. I have a full machine shop here but I can't take the time to bend-n-try-n-bend-n-try.

i have hcp mounts and they work fine but it really sucks that they didnt come with bolts....i had to use a bunch of washers and ****...i would probably buy hasport if i could do it over again...just so i could get the right bolts...only if the hasport mounts were competetivly priced..
