Looking for someone who might know the answer to this question. Honda lists different part numbers for the rear wheel bearing for 98-02 Accords with rear drum w/ ABS (42200-S84-C31), and 98-02 Accords with rear disk brakes (42200-S84-C52). For Timken bearings, they list the same wheel bearing part number for both the rear drum and rear disc brake setups (512178).

I can pick up an OEM Honda rear bearing for a good price for the rear drum setup, but my car has the rear disc brakes. Are the bearings the same? Will they interchange?

TIMKEN Part # 512176 Rear; Rear Drum Brakes
TIMKEN Part # 512177 Rear; Rear Drum Brakes; 4-Wheel ABS
TIMKEN Part # 512178 Rear; Rear Disc Brakes; 4-Wheel ABS

77 could be used on a 76 car, but not vice versa(need reluctor rings for ABS)

78 is for rear discs.

I did a google search for wheel bearing part number 512177, and it does cross reference to the 98-02 Accord with drums and ABS. A couple of the sites that came up listed that the part was no longer available, which is probably why Timken's website is showing the 512178 for both rear drum with ABS and rear disc brakes.
