90 CRX swap !!!
Ok so i have hit a wall and am having one hell of a time trying to figure out why this damn car wont start!
i have a 90 Honda CRX that came with with a D15b6(ran fine until the head gasket took a ****), swapped that engine out for a d16a6 motor from a CRX SI that i bought from a friend moving out of state. D16 ran fine up until i pulled it out and out and put it in my CRX.
Here is my problem... I have searched and search for the last 3 weeks on how to trouble shoot and repair the problem, the ECU gives me a Code 15 Ignition output signal. I have put a test light to the dizzy and done all the trouble shooting that is asked of me and even replaced the ICM with a known good one and a brand new one. Even better i had taken the dizzy from the other engine and put it on the new engine, i have no spark what so ever! Checked all grounds and they are fine as well. I check the fuel injectors and they are not clicking or getting any power to them. So at this point i am a little lost.. please send any ideas or info my its much appreciated

your problem is that you are trying to use the D16A6 engine harness with the HF chassis harness - they are not compatible - the D16A6 engine harness has the igniter wire in the passenger side rectangular 6-pin connector - the HF chassis harness has the igniter wire in the round 8-pin connector on the driver's side - the injector wires (except for one) are all in different locations in the round 8-pin driver's side connectors - you need to use the HF D15B6 engine harness and add wires for the FICV
Jlicrx you sir are 100% correct, after pocking and testing, I got feed up and swaped the D15 harness back into it and it started right up (didnt run 100% but i can fix that) I couldn't reply because of the new account. Thank you for your feed back!
