If your car has abs, then yes you do need the abs bearing. The one side has a magnetic ring that the sensor reads so make sure that side faces in. Use a paper clip or something to identify which side is magnetic. But I don't think em1s have abs. I could be wrong about that.

USDM EM1s have no ABS. I think candian models did, though. If your car has ABS, you need an ABS bearing. Check on rockauto if you're buying an aftermarket bearing.

Just a tip don't use driveworks wheel bearings. I had one on my EG and it lasted about 6 months(Chinese junk). Go with Timkins.

Yes, Timken is a very good aftermarket replacement brand. I believe they are still made in Japan.

I also just received a bearing yesterday in Timken box, but it was stamped Koyo.

Unfortunately, I paid more because I thought was getting the Timken. I could have gotten the Koyo for ~$20 less. Debating whether or not to make an issue out of it.

Am I misinformed that NTN or Timken is the OEM equivalent? Majestic sells NTN @ ~$88. This Timken I purchased was originally $86, on sale for $61 shipped though. Found Koyos all day for $40 shipped.

You live, you learn. I've made purchasing mistakes before but its because I was in a rush. Sometimes when I order from online oem dealers I look for the cheapest price AFTER shipping is included. Every single one of them have there hits or miss plus it also depends on who is located closer to your location for cheaper shipping.
