From: Howcome we park on driveways, and drive on parkways?
I think as well as things fell into place with this, it was meant to be. Im currently selling my daily driver Audi S8. 2001, a bunch of miles, and even more headaches. Just dont want to deal with it anymore although it is amazing to drive, super smooth, big body, tons of power. Yada yada. Yea its great. I dont want it anymore. I put it up for sale and have a buyer picking it up today actually. While I had my Audi for sale for a few weeks I was now in need of daily driver again. I have had my Champ White coupe in my garage for a while now and just havent gotten around to finishing it. Well no time better than now since I needed a daily. I got it all tightened up and shes on the road for daily duty. However, I have has this car for a long time and it's just not what I want to drive anymore. So the search was on for a new daily.
As Im sure all of us R owners do, we scour the boards and forums everyday just to see if we can come across a good deal, or a part, or a spare anything! Well in my searches I was able to find myself a new daily driver. A perfect candidate for my situation. A very well kept example of a 2001 ITR. #1058. Unfortunately, 1058 spun a bearing on Cyl 3 about a week or 2 ago, and the owner with a growing family, home upgrades and a really clean EM1 daily already it was time to part with his R. I luckily have the ITR swap that was originally in my white coupe that I fixed up, just sitting in storage waiting to wake up again. #1058 already had the block replaced under warranty by Acura around 70k by owner #2, so it is not a VIN matching block to begin with anyway, so my engine is a worthy replacement. The ITR had a previous 5 owners, with the previous owner to me being owner #3 and #5. He owned it from the end of '05 to mid 2011. Sold it to a guy in Colorado, who owned it for about 6 months until he got accepted to Med School. So he sold it back to him, and he was now owner 3 & 5.
Clean title, clean carfax and autocheck. The passenger door handle was replaced after an attempted theft from the original owner. There was also minor damage to the driver side rear with original, just above the driver wheel. Nothing major, and you cant even tell of any work being done to it. The exhaust that was on it did a little melt job to the original rear bumper, so that has also since been replaced with a OEM replacement. At this point she sits at 135k and doesnt even come close to looking that age. This body is in better shape than a lot of examples Ive previously looked at purchasing. Zero, and I mean ZERO rust on it. The undercarriage is super clean as well. All interior bits are present, and in great shape. A little wear to the OEM driver seat as always, but other than that she is sure to please.
Here's the specs on heR as I picked heR up yesterday:
01-1058 NHBP
Clean Title
135k Miles
All matching VIN's except rear bumper (OEM Replacement)
Bilstien struts with GC Setup (Have stock setup also)
CT Engineering Intake
HID Hi and Low beams (6k & 3k)
T1R Test Pipe
Custom 2.5" Exhaust mated to a Magnaflow muffler
Relatively new RE11 tires
Optional Rear Upper Strut bar
Optional Side skirts and Rear Valances
I havent gotten the chance to give heR a full detail yet, but here are some pics to give ya an idea of what's to come. The phoenix yellow now has a sister, but the grunt of my right foot abuse will go to the Black one.

My boy said about 20x on the way home, "I cant wait to lift the yellow one and park the black one under it!"...
