94 Del Sol - Y8 mini me swap (OBD2b distributor harness)

Default 94 Del Sol - Y8 mini me swap (OBD2b distributor harness)

So I did a mini me swap on my del sol adding a y8 head I got the y8 distributor, and I am making my own obd1 9 pin to obd2b 8 pin harness. So my question is a wired everything together and im left with a green wire on the 2 plug obd1 connector what do I do with that wire????


Ived tried searching the last 2 days but cant get a clear answer.

What year Del Sol?

And do you mean Yel/Grn rather than Grn wire?

Yea its just green and its a 94 ...and I need to figure out how to add pic im doing it threw my phone

There's no solid Grn wire in the distributor plug. It's probably a faded blue wire.

You can upload the picture to a site like PhotoBucket and then paste the IMG code into you post.

What ECU?

The blue wire is for the tachometer signal. It connects to the ICM inside the distributor, but I'm not sure that an OBD2b distributor has a blue wire connected to the ICM as OBD2b cars get the tach signal from the ECU.

Open the distributor and look for a blue wire attached to the ICM.

You are correct Ron. With the info you provided I searched for more info and it does connect inside the distributor to the ICM.

Although its not a d16 distributor its basically the same situation and exact same gutts. Thanx Ron . Finally after 2 days of searching lol.!
