It's in the FAQ, please use it. Any specific questions you might have please feel free to ask about it.

In theory yes, in reality...it's not quite that simple. If you swap all those parts over you should have all the relevant clearances measured to make sure they are within spec. And to be honest, you're pretty much going through the motions of a full rebuild. If it were me, I'd just do a full rebuild and start over from 0 miles.

a z6 and a6 are basically the same, just use the whole Z6 block and be done with it.

they are not the same - the Z6 pistons have a lot bigger dish than the A6 pistons - the A6 head on the Z6 block with the Z6 pistons will give you a compression ratio of about 8.5:1

Its gonna be a full rebuild I have eagle rods, srp pistons all the goodies for the a6. I can't find a a6 block. So I can't use the a6 pistons in the z6 block? I thought they were the same.

You can. It sounded like you were just going to swap a bunch of stuff over and call it done. It'll fit, dimensionally/mechanically speaking the blocks are the same where it counts.

There's many techniques, I use the screw method. If you do this, just make sure you only thread the least amount needed.
