Hy everyone.

Does anybody know how can I lift my engine to be a little bit higher from the ground? I want to drop my car a lot and wanna be sure that my engine will be safe

engine is stock d16a JDM with s20

 

People drop civics every day without raising the engine. Where are you driving and how low do you want to go? If the answers are "through a minefield" and "slammed hella fresh crazy silly dope flush weak low" then....you're being unreasonable.

 

this is reasonable because of awful roads in Russia

 

Don't drop your car so low.

 

if it's a d16 I wouldn't worry about it....but why the need to be so low it looks dumb and causes damage.

 

You can make custom mounts to lift an engine. But you're going to have problems clearing the hood.

The chassis components and header will hit before the pan does...unless you catch a lucky bump or something. If you have to worry about scraping an oil pan on the stock engine....the car is too low or the header has bad ground clearance.

Needing to raise an engine in order to run as low as you want while still driving the same way on really bad roads is unreasonable. Feel me? There's a lot involved in raising up the engine. And you're going to break a lot of other things first by driving on bad roads with a car low enough to bang the oil pan.

You can alternatively make a skid plate to act as an oil pan/header protector.

I think you'll never understand what I mean about bad roads) almost all roads in our city are good now. but there are places where I should drive, where I can brake an oil pan. I have a skid plate now, but the clearance is to small because of it. So i want to remove this plate and drop my car more, and I want to raise an engine too

that skid plate is saving your bumper and header/oil pan, there was some kid who wanted to do this a while ago....here's the thing have you accounted for the increased stress on the drive shafts/tierods and the increased center of gravity that will come from trying to do this. also you'd need to find a way to raid the hood at the front not just the back with hood spacers.

 

If there are shops in your area that specialize in building rally cars, ttey might help you. You'd have to modify and fabricate all of the engine mounts, as well as raise the hood and make sure all the accessories will still work . All in order to save an engine worth $300 (USD), and to drop a car a little more. I haven't heard of any pre made kits to raise a D series out.

 

pull the front engine mount bracket off the block where it bolts to the block you need to cut slots going upward of the current holes.

find you 8x 2 1/2"-3" long piece of 1/4" steel make both identical in length and width
drill a 3/8" hole at each end, remove your rear engine mount bolt

bolt the front mount back on but leave the bolts loose (do not put in the big mount bolt yet)

jack up the engine and trans (you'll have to do front first then do the rear once front is done)

now take 2 of the brackets you made slide em between the front mount and bolt it to the main mount

now do the same for the rear, then move on to do the sides.

 

Bad idea for cd axles, but than again dropping your car 2 inches and raising the engine 2 inches shouldn't hurt it. Finding someone who can will hurt the wallet. Custom mounts all around, including the torque mounts.
