Default Megan Racing

I want to lower my car and saw Megan Racing lowering springs go for about $165. Is this a good price? Is anyone running them that could comment on quality?

I think you're likely to get the response that you shouldn't buy cheap lowering springs... also when you lower your car with just springs you can wear out the shocks very quickly... It's usually recommended that you replace the shocks and springs at the same time (spring rate and height dictates the strength/size of the shocks needed). The alternative is to get coilovers which are an all-in-one package and allow you to lower the car more but will usually be stiffer and make for a rough ride on bumpy streets (but good handling and the ability to raise and lower each wheel separately). They make coilovers with variable tension springs that provide goodhandling but also a smoother ride. Coilovers are pretty expensive from what I've seen, though.

Also keep in mind that lowering the car will change the camber/toe of the wheels so you might need a camber kit and wheel alignment (lowering less than 1.5" usually is safe, or so I've read).

I can't speak to the quality of that particular brand, but with aftermarket stuff you get what you pay for and if it seems way cheaper than all the other brands, it's probably too good to be true.

I'm no expert or anything but that's my $0.02, good luck

You know, I did a little research and it seems like most people are pretty happy with the quality of Megan springs for ppl on a budget. For adjustability, coilovers would be better probably. And depending on the spring rates, my statement above about needing new shocks still stands... I would call them up and ask what shocks you would need to pair up with that particular spring set.

Based on several reviews, it seems that their "street" springs are barely stiffer than stock on many cars, so you might not need new shocks if the springs don't lower the car a significant amount, but they also might not improve your handling as much as Megan racing's mid-tier stiffness springs. Sorry for the long winded response lol, I'm researching suspension upgrades atm too so I've been reading a lot of stuff on it lately

The performance benefits aren't of as much of a concern as the aesthetic for me as the car is a dd. And I need to replace the shocks anyway as they're OEM Honda units and the car has 190k on. Thanks and gl in your search
