Default a dead horse... z6 vs y8

I have been looking around for quite awhile for gear ratio info on civic trannys. Ain't really come up with much. I'm still pretty new to this stuff, so I'm asking the pros - or anyone that knows more than I do - to help a noob out.

Sooooo.... Please fill in the blanks: (the choices are z6 or y8 unless provided)

1) Which tranny gets you off the line faster? _______

2) Which one has a closer gear ratio to achieve quicker acceleration? ______

3) Which has a better pull: z6 stock, y8 stock, or a y8 with a FD of 4.9? ______

Bonus question:
Once I get all this and drop the tranny in, should I let my mom drive it? ______

Thank you, people who know what the heck they're talking about!

Why am I giving you these vs just an answer?
Because there is no 'correct answer' its all about your application.

I'm looking for something better to do up my d16y7. My transmission is unhappy.

Also, this seems indefinite in the numbers. These are telling me that an ex and an Si are the same.

Are they really?

You won't be able to tell from the 96-00 EX and the 92-95 EX/Si. Just find one without grinds and both will be better than the Y7. I did the Y8 trans on my 96 hatch and it did feel better over all but with the Y7 engine it still felt like a turd.

Yeah. Y7 = Boat Anchor.

My engine (Y7) is waaaayy too clean to get rid of just yet. I figure I'll beat it to death with a rebuilt tranny that will kick its teeth, then replace the engine when it gives in to torque.
