I have a 1994 civic EX with a d16z6, but the AC compressor has a leak so I'm going to have to replace it. I came across a d16y8 from a friend and thought that might be compatible. Before even trying I looked up the part number for both of them and an aftermarket one was the same for both so I thought it would be worth a shot. When I took off the bad one I noticed that the hoses from it won't fit the y8 compressor. I was just wondering if anyone else had tried this with any success since when I searched online an aftermarket one would have worked for both engines.
