f20b in a 98 accord, manual questions.
Yes I've googled, but every article i read is about auto trans to manual swap.
I have a f23a1 manual and my motor is on the fritz. JDM engine depot has the f20b auto motor for 499 (i know it slower then the manual one, and i know my f23a1 is only 350).
I know i don't need to redo my drive side mount like the h22 which is why im going f20b blue top, its a direct swap.
questions:
will the f23a1 axles work (i know my tranny will just bolt on)
and what ecu do i need? (the EU manual trans?)
will i need to rewire some sensors?
Thanks so much

For $499 is that the motor alone or with the transmission included? I'd advise against keeping the auto transmission since 6th gen Accords have known a/t problems.
Last time I checked an f20b with a 5 speed was about $900. Better specs on the motor and better transmission.

its the auto with the auto trans. I know it has less power im trying to be budget friendly and the 20 less hp doesnt bother me.
From what i understand since i can use my f23 trans my axles will work. It seems like my big issues are going to be the wires on the throttle body and no power steering mount, ill have to buy a h22 power steering mount. Not sure what obd2 ecu i use.

For the ECU it would be best to have the harness and F20B ECU for the F20B engine.
As for transmission, the gear ratios are most likely different. The shorter stroke B will not have the low-end torque of the F23. If you are planning on going the F20B route make it simple and use the F20B transmission and ECU.
Late 90's Honda OBDII ECUs are pricey to tune. Best to just use what the engine originally had.

I wasnt planning on tuning it, just running it stock. and the f23a1's tranny does have longer ratios. which i dont mind because i do alot of highway driving. so if i get the f20b harness and ecu, it should just be plug and play? I can still pass NY inspection? I dont need to swap Intake's or exhaust mani's?
