93 Civic Cranks but will not start
In the 1 millionth episode of the title above, my 93 Civic with a 15b7 will not crank:
What I have replaced...
- Fuel Pump
- Fuel Pump Relay
- Igniter
What I have replaced in the past few months
- Timing belt
- Dizzy Cap
- Other part in the dizzy that is not the Igniter
Car cranked a week ago and even after I replaced the Fuel Pump
Now when I crank it I smell gas, but its like it is not getting spark.
At my wits end with this car and to be honest with you may sell it spends more time parked than being driven in the last 3 months. I like the little car, but not enough to keep t-shooting it and seemingly getting no where.
Any help would be appreciated.
Going back out to mess with it some more so will be in later for any suggestions.
Thanks

It doesn't sound like you're troubleshooting, it sounds like you're throwing parts at it.

I have a 92 civic cx also with a d15b7 with all the same problems. I have replaced the fuel pump, the main relay, the ecu, and the distributor. I cannot get the fuel pump to prime. I have jumped the main relay and got the fuel pump to prime but the car still wont start. I am also at my wits end with this car! So you and I are in the same boat.
Everything else was from TShooting in the past off of this board. The fuel pump was the last thing I tshooted with help off of this board.
This has really been a work in progress.
What I posted earlier was months of Tshooting from threads I started on this board and replacing parts where it led me.
I have spark.
Believe it or not.... I put the original ignitor back in and the car fired up....
Starting to believe that I have a busted wire in the dizzy connected to the ignitor.....
I may just buy another dizzy.....
I am at the point of swapping parts in and out as this car cut off on my kid on the interstate once and has left him stranded a few other places as well.
So if part swapping does not fix it, to be honest with you, it will have to go on CL. Nice little car, but it spends just as much time on the road as it does with the hood up
Thanks guy for the post and this will give me another route to check.
