2001 Civic 1.7l Head removal
This post is for a freind of mine, He recently had a 7mm socket fall into cylander no4, he got a magnet thing from advanced auto and the magnet fell off and stuck to the side of the cylander. He purchased a bore scope and we see both the magnet, and socket, long story short, we cant get the magnet out with the magnet attachment on the bore scope, because it repells when we pull it up to the spark plug hole. We need to take the head off, can someone show me the way on a step by step with tools required, we are in no rush we have 60 days till he can actually drive it, but want to do it ourselves, the right way, once. I appreacate any help, and im sorry this post is asking for alot, but we could most deff use it.
That is epic fail at its finest LOL. WHY THE HELL would you use a magnet that is not solidly attached to something at one end? Sorry I just got a good laugh out of this. excuse my ignorance.
Anyways the head needs to come off. Period. Best thing to do is go get yourself a chilton/helms manual for your car and start reading up on the process. It has step by step instructions and pictures.

Have any pictures? I don't usually work on too many 1.7 but for people that know, can they pull the valve cover off to make it easier or will it not make a difference?
I can't think of a tool off the top of my head that will fit through a spark plug hole, have enough surface area and strength to hold a magnet, and articulate properly to pull this off. Not to mention you have to ray charles it.
http://www.themotorbookstore.com/hon...al-haynes.html is this the manual we want.
