Hey guys, I bought my 95 a few months back knowing the speedometer didn't work and just now finding out I had a code 4(?) And needed a new vss well I just got it in today and went to go change it and noticed the cables that connect to it are completly fried. Well my question is has anyone had this problem and changed the whole cables and vss? And if so could anyone post a link to were I can find the cables (harnesses) for cheap? Thank you for reading

 

go to jy and get the plug with pigtail (length of wires with it). splice in and go. coolant probably dripped on the plug and shorted out at some point.

 

What is jy? Sorry I'm still slowly learning electrical. And would o reillys or any parts shop sell a plug that directly fits the vss?

Ok. Well I have the new sensor and plug with extra wires but the colors aren't matching up. On the new set of wires there is a black cable, a solid faint yellow cable, and a yellow with a blueish strip down it. On the old wires that are still running to the dash are black, dark yellow, and a redish pink wire. Can you guys tell me what yellow wires go to the old set?

 

Try comparing the two sensors next to one another, splice the wires in the same order
