So my ex keyless entry is somewhat messed up. Sometimes the remote works and sometimes it doesnt at all. Sometimes i have to set off the alarm to get the buttons on my fob to work. The power locks themselves work fine. Im trying to figure out of its my remote or the stock radio that is still semi hooked up and nestled into my dash behind my pioneer headunit. I'm thinking it could possibly be a loose wire in there. Ive already taken apart my remote and cleaned all connections. It worked god for the first hour but then i was back to square one.

1. is it possible to buy a new remote/set it up to work with my car
2. Any other knowledge or suggestions that may prove helpful are apprecicated

 

Yes, you can have an oem remote programmed for your car. IIRC, it can even be used.
