Default Oil line/Guage questions.

Ok so i have been searching for hours and my mind is stumped on which route to take. im Rebuilding my D16y8 with Wiesco pistons, eagles rods, etc etc. Im very stumped on how to set up my oil feed lines. not return. just feed.

I like the idea going from the oil pressure unit, BUT. I dont want to hook up a brass fitting that will just crack and mess up my block.

I also like the idea of a sandwhich plate. BUT not having unfilitered oil is the part i dont like. I understand that GE makes a "filtered" sandhiwch plate.

So my ultimate question here is which option should i go with? or is there a T fitting that is out there is stronger than brass that wont break off?

And if i wanted to run the feed line from the GE plate, can i still run the Oil Pressure gauge from the oil pressure sending unit without putting a T fitting on it sense i wouldnt have the feed line from there?

I have also heard of stealthmode making a kit that puts everything onto the firewall? anyone have a link to this kit or is disc?

Ill be running a T3/T4 garret journal bearing turbo by the way.

Thanks for any help!

Stealthmode used to make the firewall mounts, but the company doesnt exist any longer (see link). I know that B&R Fittings can hook you up with the same thing as Stealthmode used to offer, but its not packaged in the same manner.

If you're using the sandwich adapter to measure oil pressure, the unfiltered aspect doesn't matter, but if you're also feeding the turbo from it, I can see your hesitation. I used a sandwich adapter on my built setup and never had any issues with it, but maybe i was lucky.

Edit: that sucks about stealthmode. I will look into the B&R kit. Because im really not sure if i trust running oil to my turbo from a sandwhich plate, but also dont want a big T fitting that is gunna break off you know? haha.

Well, i would like to run the feed line off the sandwich plate (maybe, haven't made up mind) and then the pressure gauge off the pressure unit (hoping the T fitting wont be nesscary just for the gauge) then i would have a spare port of the sandwich plate for other oil hook ups. wondering if i would get accurate pressure readings this way or not.

Hopefully that makes sense.

GE Sandwich plate. I use the BW same GE design no problem.

Remote firewall fittings and problem solved. (not clean as sandwich plate) just a regular feed kit with a hose to connect from the block to the Tee.

I actually just called B&R and asked what there T fitting for there oil feed kit was made out and they said steel. Which is so much better than brass.
So i think i will go with that T fitting knowing it wont break and i get cleaner oil to my turbo. and run the gauge off that as well.

Then maybe i can use the Sandwhich plate for other things like possibly an oil cooler?

Don't tee right off the block. Run a line from the block to a tee fitting then run your feed line to your turbo.

After i thought about it all day that exactly what im going to do ^^

Any advice on which lines to run directly off the block to the T fitting though? leangth, size, etc? or should i just call B&R and ask them the best kit for that?
