Im looking for a new transmission because corporate honda is trying to **** me over with 5gs to give me a rebuild transmission. i have a 06 si. hit me up just trying to see what my options are. thanks

 

why not look for another used z3 tranny?

going to a different tranny you will loose the lsd and plus the gearing will be very different making your car perform differently...

I don't see how corporate Honda is screwing you over cause your car is out of warranty... Also manual trannys aren't really covered anymore!

 

That price must be new and installed... they are a little over $3,200 brand new.

I'm looking for a used one but yeaa I haven't been able to find one in la. But we see what happens. I'm still under warranty but they don't wanna take responsibility for the actions of their mechanics

 

I can't find the k20z3 transmission for sale... I seen the 13 si transmission for sale for 1400. If anyone knows someone please let me know thanks..

 

why not go with the k20z3 tranny instead? At least you know it fit perfectly...

 

I thought they had the same transmission. Both six speed, LSD equipped...I guess I might be wrong..

 

I found the 12 transmission for sale for 200 dollars extra. I can't find a k20z3 tranny. And honda is just trying to get more money out of me...

 

They are both 6spd and have LSD but I'm not sure they are exactly the same in terms of fitting!

I'm surprised no JDM shops around you don't have one... where are you located?

Find another z3 tranny, you're gonna miss that lsd if you switch to something else.

 

12+ Si have a 6spd + LSD tranny... so he won't miss out on anything! We just aren't sure if the tranny fit on to the k20z3.

 

Mmm I'm heard it does fit but just gotta get some additional parts for it. But it's just research I have done. I am located in Los Angeles. There's a Jdm motor store in the valley I heard about but I can't find them on craiglist anymore. I was hoping I could find it there but no luck yet. K20z3 tranny came messed up so I'm thinking about building my transmission again with the brand new gears ?! If you guys know ppl who build trannys let me know please.

 

What additional parts are needed to make the 12+ si tranny fit? Just curious. I'd imagine it'd physically bolt up since engines and trannies of the same series are generally compatible. However, I know that things such as speed sensors can be different between different engines/trannies. For example, the 05-06 rsx speed sensor is different from the one in the 02-04 rsx.
