Default 2003 no compression all cylinders

2003 won't start, has fuel and spark, no compression all cylinders. Try to start and it spins like a top but won't start.
Timing chain spins, valves moving up and down but no compression in pistons. What to check next? Granddaughter's car, trying to help her out here. She replaced the engine 2 years ago but that warranty ran out. Any ideas?

Sounds like the chain jumped and bent valves. Pull the cover(s) and check the timing on the chain.

K24 problems. Head needs a rebuild.
Known issue is on startup the auto tensioner, which uses oil to maintain tension, can fail and lets the chain fall off the sprocket. Usually happens at startup, start engine, crank spins, cams do not, pistons smack open valves and bends them.

BTW this is the 90-02 forum. '03-present forum may have better answers for replacement/best deals.
