can b2 camgear fit z6 camshaft???
Did a mini swap(a6 block d16z6 head). Car ran then died on me. When cranking the car i noticed the camgear key broke, so while rotating at the crank the camgear rotated, but it did NOT rotate the actual camshaft. I have a b2 cam gear which looks identical, even has 38 teeth. But i couldnt slide it into the z6 camshaft. Are they not compatible? Or is my camshaft messed up and not useable?
Need help please.

The z6 and b2 gears are the same but that wont help you any now. The head was oil starved and the cam seized causing your gear to brake. did you remember to pull the oil jet out of the block when swapping heads?
So the cam is done... cant be saved by a shop or sanding or something? And what about the head... there was also scratches on the part where the cam is placed, think the journals? I did take out the jet in the block, i got my valves adjusted by a shop, i used a z6 timing belt, could something have been too tight? ... i did also use a b2 tensioner... idk if that makesa difference...
The cam can be saved, but it would cost you well more than the cost of a used replacement cam. Same deal with the head - if the journals are damaged, throw it away. Bare heads can be found for under $50. Strip down the internals from your damaged head, buy a replacement cam and bare head, and reassemble.
