i wonna learn how to swap my a6 to a y8 motor, and i was wondering if you guys had some good sites that can teach me how to do this
thanx in advance

Hey BlackCRX. As far as I know, there are no websites out there that explain this whole process 100%. However, Raene and I did this entire swap into my 89 CRX, including the Obd-I conversion. I have full instructions on how to do this, including pics. It's really not all that hard. Give me your email addy and I'd be happy to send it to you.
Same wiring harness if your using the PM6 ECU if other ECU gonna have to do some other work. My explination is for ODB-0 ECU. You should swap your injectors from your A6 intake and you have to use a IAT sensor in you intake piping its no longer in the intake manifold. You got the motor from a 5 speed right. Tranny will bolt up. Use the drivers side motor mount with a little work done to it so wont hit timing belt. Map sensor is on the TB. Every thing else is pretty much drop in. Also have to add a v-tec controller.

sorry to say 15.9 with 100k at BMS with 2.5 60's on shitty tires. should have been 15.7's. Yeah its OBD-0. To put BMS in perspective a 90 SI with B16 runs around 15.7's and a CRx will run around 15.6's and those are with better 60's. Its a slow track. Anybody want to dispute this. This is a Z6 with Y8 intake manifold with over 100k miles. oh and by the way if use Y8 injectors you have to remove the injector resistor box or fry the ECU

Anyhow, you say it like it's a hard thing... it's very very easy to do. If you're going to do a swap, do it right. My track may be a fast track, but my little Y8 could keep up with B18 Civics... As for having OBD-I - it's just plain better. Better emissions, more ECU tuning options (with P28), The proper fuel and timing maps, the proper rev limiter and VTEC engagement point. It doesn't cost much more to run OBD-I and the benefits far outweigh the hassles. Ask anyone on here who has converted to OBD-I.
Think about it BlackCRX... You know how easily I passed aircare? Stale 6 month old 89 octane gas and a crappy 02 sensor... passed with flying colours. OBD-I is just plain better in all aspects.

Not saying anything about the swap is hard. Its just ECU pin outs take a pin pop it out and plug into new plug or spend $$$ for skunk 2 harness either or. From what I'm getting he just wants a straight forward swap. From what he has already. Heck if want to use a PG7 ECU with a V-AFC and call it quits. No preset V-tec, Adj air/fuel mixtures, 7200 rev limit, no repins.

I should really put that thing up on the net huh 89y49. Damn i am lazy.... anywho you cant convince everyone to do it the right way. Let others do it the easy/half assed way and let us reap the benefits.
On a side note i ordered the b&m fpr and the gauges today. I hope my fuel pump isnt bad cause i just filled the tank to the top. Perfect timing right

BUt I'd say screwing around with the easy route is a whole lot more difficult in the long run! Hopefully your fuel pump isn't fragged
I sent you an email with some suggestions though
89_y_49RIP: thats man, i pm'd you my email
and thanx for everyones input and help
i wonna do this myself or maybe with a few friends but bottom line is i wonna learn how to do it myself and do it right

Here you go (if you dont want to half *** it) for OBD-0 to OBD-1 conversion:
http://www.geocities.com/chipman_13/...onversion.html. The ECU harness from jdmhondaparts.com is 230.00 may be able to find cheeper. You can do what you think will work for you the best. Can always change your mind and switch when ever, but my suggestion is get it going at first then go from there. Take a weekend getting the motor in and if want to swap ECU and do the addl wiring take another weekend. I went with leaving OBD-0 and added the V-AFC best investment I could find and if I decided to go OBD-1 still can be used. I don't see any sense in buying something you cann't use later. Could also get a reprogramed PM6 ECU which will cost you also. Anything is possable with time and $$$$ I personally would rather work with what I have and save $$$$ for later then blow it all at once and find out cann't be used for anything else. Dont get me wrong a P28 is a good ECU can be rechiped for alot but if this is first swap (assuming it is) get it going first.

that's cool bro I was just teasin ya.
As for obd0-obd1 conversion harnesses email/pm
blown90hatch on here. He makes em and sells em for a fair price ~150.
A few times he has had group buys and the price went down depending on how many people bought. I got in on one for ~100 bucks. It plugs in between the obd0 ecu and an obd1 ecu and you add a total of 8 wires. One being for a toggle switch to make the check engine light in the dash flash your ecu error codes.
I am gonna put that page on the web with a few more pics this weekend. I have been saying that forever, but this time i really will

let me know when your website is up and running
oh ya and most important of all let me know your website address
hehehe
Cbrman is the man, he helped me all throughout this whole swap. Major props to him
In fact, my instructions and information are all from him
,
with the following caveats: You can use the stock Y8 throttle linkage bracket by flipping it upside down. Also, the bottom rad hose for a CRX Si (cut down) will work for the top rad hose, which is at a funny angle on the Y8. The reason I mention this is that it is really tough to find the right size flexhose around here.

BlackCRX: Dude, you can always feel free to ask me any questions you have! Don't be shy, raene, 89_Y_49RIP, and myself have lots of experience with this swap! And we all live basically in your backyard. Shoot all the questions you want to me at the Nov. 2nd meet. I even have the obd-I conversion harness ready to go (although not in my car yet, 'cause I've been lazy lately). I can show you exactly how I did everything. You can have a look at the y8 in my car...
89_Y-49RIP: You can actually use the CRX upper rad hose, simply use the a6 coolant nozzle (with the bleeder valve) instead of the y8 one....that way everything remains stock.....
