What would u do without ur' mechanic...
Some people learn the hard way, working on their cars day & night, wanting to make'm better. I learned from my pops, who is not only my mechanic, he's also my body guy, paint guy and has more stories to tell about his days drag racing VW's and Toyota's 1.8, than my 2 brothers and me put together...
He's the one that will wake up at 7am, and then wake me up to work on my car, because he likes it... always wanting to make it better! It's just the rush to have something nicer & faster.
So, how important is your tech to u? 4 me not only because he's my father, but because everything i know came from him... i could not afford to pay for someone else, just too valuable!
Too many stories to tell...

I'm my own tech...hehe. I guess I am pretty important to myself....
But over the years my dad has taught me a lot of tips and tricks about working on cars. I also have learned things through trial and error. Especially doing swaps. I learned quicker ways to do something by doing it the long way the firs time. So I guess my dad has been pretty important in my car education.

i guess i'll have to pay retail for my parts when my mechanic decides to call it quits *sigh*, but hes been helpful, i try not to ue him too much i like to do alot of it on my own
Well, my dad just calls me a loser and freeloader, and he laughs when i do stuff for myself because he is a jerk off. I dont do anything too complex, but when i do stuff, it usually works out pretty good. Ive learned everything from he forums and by myself.

Honda-tech has been a good tech for me. I don't really trust mechanics. Everyone on Honda-tech gets a big

That sounds like my situation, I try to do it myself because Ive been burned by too many mechanics
YOU GUYS!!! That's right, all my friends on Honda-Tech have taught me almost all I know about Honda's...the rest has come from my own experience, I wish I could say my dad taught me a lot...but he didn't, he taught me some...but mainly just to take care of it...now he brings me beer and sits on a lawn chair and watches!!!!
I still don't know anything about cars. Plus my dad could give a flip about my car. But, I am learning, just very slowly. The only thing I have done so far, is install all my suspension and other minor things. I don't think I am ready for a motor swap, but my next car, I will definitely do all my own work.
