Default *Write-Up* Nardi Classic single contact horn into NRG 2.5 quick release

Due to a lack of info when I was doing research, I decided to make a quick write-up on installing my Nardi Classic horn button with a single contact onto the NRG 2.5 quick release.

This method doesn't utilize spacers or retaining rings. It's quite simple.

A single contact horn will work as long as it contacts the metal part of the quick release (self grounding). However, the black NRG QR seems to be powder coated, and I didn't want to ruin the finish to get a good ground connection.

I utilize the supplied ground wire in this write-up.

While doing research, I saw the horn buttons installed a number of ways, mostly jerry-rigged and sloppy; so I hope this helps someone in the future.

Step 1.

Drill a small hole in the tab of a female spade connector.

Step 2.

Remove the retaining spring that holds the horn components together.

Step 3.

Step 4.

Reassemble the horn button.

Step 5.

Connect wires to horn (+) and (-).

Step 6.

Install

Done!

I suggest testing the horn before bolting everything together!
