For the idle issue, a common problem is the IACV or FITV. Here are instructions from the FAQ on how to clean them:

For the pothole issue, you will get better answers if you post more info about what you currently have on your car. What springs, tires, and wheels.
I had 17s with low profile tires on a lowered Del Sol I bought. I thought it looked pretty silly and changed it all out.
IMO if you want to keep lowered and drive rough roads you'll want stiff springs and more tire.

do you even understand spring rates... stiffer will make it ride even worse
. more tire yes you're correct there op you've not told us nothing specific about your suspension set up ie what brands/model the part are and what wheels/tires you're running.

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
Whether he needs stiffer or softer springs depends on what he used to lower the car. 3" is a pretty healthy drop. So...hopefully he doesn't say he has just sleeves sitting over whatever shocks. 3" is a lot to ask for a non-shortened fixed height/travel shock.
problem is i just bought the car and have no idea what suspension is in it only know that there is coilovers in the front and just sport springs in the back i went to bigger tires and it hits alot less but im still trying to figure how to stop fender smacking in the rear i just shredded a tire due to this.... is there a rubber spacer or something i can use so my tire doesnt hit the bare fender??? anything im not really a mechanic but i know how to keep my car running nothing else just trying to find suggestions i have $$ so if i need to replace suspension not an issue please just give suggestions on best way to go about it thanks.
