Default What Kind of Tires Did You Upgrade To?

It's time to dump the crappy OEM tires on my Type S.

What tires have you tried and liked/hated? This is for daily commuting/entrance ramp attacks. No track daze.

Just ran through a set of S-03s and they are the best tire out there for wet and dry. Best dry tire only tho is the Azenis...and for 65% of the cost of the S-03s. In SoCal it's hard to beat that, except if you're running 17s you're assed out...the 225 width rubs. Better get some light *** 16s and throw those Azenis on there.

I live in Boston, and drive to VT every weekend in the winter to ski.

There is no such thing as a good all season tire. I have a set of tires for Spring, Summer, Fall. And a set of dedicated snow tires. I will put my snow tires up against any all season tire. Dedicated snow tires give you security, confidence, and real performance in the worst conditions. All season tires leave you drained and helpless when it snows.

The best dry tire would be Falken Azenis. These tires grab good and won't disappoint you. I had them for a while before I got my JDM rims. The JDM rims are 17's so I'm assed out for the moment on Falken Azenis. But Falken has relseased a 215/45R17 Falken Azenis in Japan. So hopefull it finds its way down here.

I went with Pirelli P8000's for everyday use and they did really well. I also have friends here who got Yoko AVS's and Sumitumo HTR's, they both handle, feel, etc similar to mine when I drove their cars.

But for track use, I have a set of Azenis also, but be careful if you use them everyday because they wear quickly.
