My new 2001 Type R
Hello,
I am brand new to these boards. I just purchased a 2001 Phoenix Yellow Acura Integra Type R with 52K miles.
It is completely stock and in excellent shape.
Eventually, I am wanting to do some basic modifications to this car (intake, headers, exhaust).
What recommendations do you guys have as far as basic modifications go? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Beautiful! I'd honestly just keep her stock and garaged. Either way make sure you retain the OEM parts if you do start hacking at her authenticity. People pay good money for unmolested ITRs. And it will only go up in value if you don't destroy it, modify, etc etc..
pics aren't visible,,,so welcome,,like 2000fbpitr said, keep her oem+++ as possible and SAFE(dam fu**** thieft)all depend on what you want to do of curse, other than that, id go very minimalist,,headers/good b-pipe/axleback your done
caR looks clean
Headers to consider:
Toda - touted as the best off the shelf non-custom header
Hytech or SMSP - made to order but modification or removal of the tranny brace is necessary.
OEM JDM - 2.5" collector, retains OEM look
Skunk2, Spoon, Mugen, T1R are some others
Catback exhausts to consider:
Hytech or SMSP
Fujitsibo RMA01
Apexi World Sport II
T1R 63mm
Mugen twinloop

Congrats on the pickup. I recommend doing some homework and researching before you buy. You want to insure the parts you buy will all work together in harmony, both for power and also your sake in the long run. The last thing you want is parts that actually decrease power or ones you replace again down the road for being too loud, doesn't work with other parts, etc. Keep it safe and enjoy.
You have my number.

I remember the first day getting my '01 R, best feeling I think I ever experienced. Keep it as stock as possible. No mods can supersede the pure form of an original ITR.
Quite honestly, the best mod that you can do to the ITR is a good header. That's probably the most inferior part Honda put on the USDM ITR. Also, put a really good set of tires on it.
Otherwise, the car is almost perfect as-is. You cannot buy a car off the showroom today that drives and gives you the raw feedback that the ITR does.

Can anyone tell me if this is the real deal or not? I did some research and gathered the Toda headers are some of the best ones on the market.

No sir they are not.
They say "Toda Style"
REAL Toda headers are going to run you about $1200. This is most likely a similar design to the Toda headers, but not the exact same. I was trying to get a close up of the flange to see if it is stamped or not but I cant zoom on the image.

Yeah anytime you see 'style' in the description, its not an authentic part. Stay away from ebay in general for car parts unless you really know what youre looking at, there are alot of replica parts out there. If you cannot afford the toda header, have a look at the PLM replica toda or RMF narrow, both are pretty solid choices for under ~$500.
I run the RMF replica(from PLM) and I have no complaints. It's funny because I'm a firm believer in authentic parts and all were used throughout my build but I had the header laying around and just said f**k it and used it. Fitment was fine.
It says PLM in the eGhey ad so it most likely the same one sold on most Honda forums.

Just my opinion, but I'd put a genuine Toda on the car if you can afford it. If it is a street/autox car, the Mugen Gymkhana 4-2-1 also allows a ton of ground clearance while adding very good torque (like the Toda).
If I were on a budget build I'd go knock-off. Otherwise, I'd spend the cash and get the slightly nicer part.

Get super detail oriented and clean/freshen up every nook and cranny. Mild exhaust, a drop in filter, tune up, and some new suspension bushings all the way around.
So you probably have an aftermarket radiator with slim fans then? I tried fitting the PLM narrow up for fun and the oem rad fan shroud was in the way and needed to be trimmed (just FYI). So I sold the header since I wasn't going to use it. PLM seems to be a great option for 'quality' replica headers, welds were decent.
Despite my own choice I would have to agree with Todd00. If you have the financial means then spend the money once for the best. Especially since you will only be doing a few "mods". Might as well just by the right set-up first.
