Default Car Not starting

So sometimes my car doesn't want to start at all, it would turn over fine but won't turn on, and sometimes it does but dies quickly. When it does i usually have to give it some gas so it doesn't die, and I also notice that while I'm running my car and I stop/ Park it or Turn it on it would idle real low. I appreciate any help.. 93 DA9 Stock B18A1

just crank it over and pull a sparkplug to see if it's wet with gas.
or just replace fuel filter as it needs to be done every 2 years/30k miles.

Yes.

You will need a fuel pressure gauge to check fuel pressure, pulling a spark plug will not tell you what the pressure is, however it can tell you if the injectors are "firing" or not.

So start by looking and listening, when engine will not start, turn ign. switch on to the run position, [not all the way to start] and look and listen.

What should happen is....
The cluster will light up including the CEL.

At the same time.
There will be two(2) "clicks' from the PGM-FI Main Relay, [it will sound like one click as they are very close together].
The fuel pump will start priming, you can hear it.

After no more then a few sec. there will be a 3rd click from the PGM-FI Main Relay and the fuel pump will stop priming.

At the same time the CEL will go out.

If the above is not happening pull the PGM-FI Main Relay and chack for the 3 powers...

A 12V constant, hot at all times.
A 12V switch, hot in run and start.
A 2nd 12V switched, hot only when cranking to start.

If not, check fuses.

Make sure the black lead is a good ground, full continuity to chassis ground.

If not check the ground(s) at the termostat housing.

If you have both the powers and ground....

Pick up an HEI spark tester, $10-$15 at any auto parts store, and test for spark on all four cylinders.

That should keep you going for a bit.

Replace the fuel filter, and test the fuel pressure, just buy and permanently mount a fuel pressure gauge, makes a good diagnostic tool in the future and can be found for under $50.

Also, if you are going to work on your car yourself buy a manual, even just a Haynes will help a lot. 94

Thanks a lot man, I checked everything and thankfully fuel was good and grounds etc.; I took it to the shop and effectively it was my Dizzy that went bad, so now it's all fixed. Thanks
