so i was driving down the road and the car sputtered to stop and was completely out of fuel. started it and it ran for a few mins then stopped. we put 4 gallons in. tried to start it and pumped the gas but still did not start should i just let it sit for awhile or what. whats going on?

When you ran out of gas, the in-tank filter probably got covered in whatever dirt/sludge was in the tank and may be clogged. I would wait a little while and see if it will start again, but you might also want to check that filter.

 

so i cracked the fuel filter in the engine bay and fuel came out so it cant be clogged any other ideas?

 

what is your fuel pressure?
