Default B18c block with b16a head, ok what rods?

I have been to the c-speedracing website and come to the conclusion that I can use the stock b18c block and crank, with the b16 head, and b16 pistons to achieve a compression ratio of about 11.1-11.2. This answers all of my questions but one. What rods? Does this mean that I can just use my whole b16 setup? Rods/piston/rings? IF not, which do i use? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

B18C rods of course go with the stronger type R rods if you can.

Have you or anyone you know done this? I am curious of how this setup would compare to a ls/vtec setup, having the b16 head characteristics, 1.8l displacemet and the compression bumped up. All this with honda factory parts? Cool.

This set up is what's called a poorman's ITR. The B16 head is identical minus the ITR valvetrain and a slight port and polish. There are more things needed but that is the basic idea i. e. complete ITR valvetrain or better, aftermarket or ITR rods, and balancing job done to your bottom end. I would consider it a lot more reliable than ls/vtec but for all out power I would give the nod to the ls/vtec. HTH.

Personally i hate the B16 head.... I would just leave it with the GSR... All you are goin to be doing when swapping the head.. is loosing compression and getting a shitty cam profile. GSR with GSR manifold for me.. Laterz.. P.S. A lot of people like the B16 head but do whatever you want..

not if he uses those b16 pistons as quoted, then he'll have 11.1:1

i think what that other guy meant was that he could have 11.4:1 CR w/ better cams, GSR cams = more aggressive. ill stick with IAB and higher compression in a daily driver.

Yea my bad I didn't see that part of it.. That will be a good with that compression, i just personally don't like that head.. If there is any manifold on it, I would go with ITR, Skunk to me just looks like it is made like ****. Still like the B18C head and manifold

I can vouche for that, I own an ITR block with a GSR head and manifold and it feels awesome on the street. I need some exhaust work since everything is still stock GSR but it still puts down great midrage and bettert than average top end power with the raised compression
