JDM front Radiator support, NO NEED TO WELD???
When I talked to the installer of 2 C-West PY R, he says he didn't have to weld the rad support. He found an alternative way and he can change back and forth with USDM front and JDM front without welding. I have seen the Front end in person and it fits perfect. The front end can withstand all the torture on the track without readjustment, plus the bottom line is those 2 cars are track-only cars. Anyone have any thoughts on that?
Not possible unless he is somehow modifying them. Some cars have Bolt on Rad Supports, so my guess is he is only using the top and center section of the Rad Support (All that needs to be used and is different) and modifying it so that it bolts on.
You still have to do some cutting of the Fender skirts for the JDM Headlights to fit.

I remember Alan telling me this when he put the JDM front end on and it is indeed bolt on. The only problem I have with that type of set up is that the front rad mount support is a critical point of the chasis, if you don't weld it, it will most likely not be as strong as the stock welded support. Not sure how it would do in a front end crash.

i did mine without having it welded. put the bumper support on the radiator support then just bolt them up. fits perfectly.
oh yea make sure u dont use a jack on the radiator support to jack up the car

welding on a rad support REALLY isnt a huge deal guys...i mean your going to be painting the entire front for 36/hour...why not just pay the 50/hour for the mech work for one hour?
heck, if you can spot weld, then you dont even need to pay someone to do it! ....

While putting my freinds front end on we used nuts, bolts, and a drill as an alternative to hold it on until we could have it welded properly.

Anyway, you don't even have to weld on the "whole" JDM radiator support, or weld at all, because the only different pieces are the headlight section and the middle bar that holds the hood release mechanism. These parts you can rivet, screw, or weld on, once you have removed them from the JDM radiator support. Welding on the whole support is riskier and costs more money.
